May newsletter

I can do nothing? This is not a popular concept in America. Rush Limbaugh will not be exposing this idea!....... nor will the liberals!! We are the land of self made men.... of those who realize their inner potential.... who believe in themselves.... But when it comes to spiritual fruit bearing and Christian service, it is a foundational truth! Christ has called His Church to be fruit bearers. To go into the world and bear much fruit. Jesus tells us that it is impossible to bear fruit apart from abiding in Him.

What`s the plan?  Leaving soon??
As Scott and I look to the Lord to open the way for us to carry His light to a dark place on the Earth, we are aware that it must be the Lord who opens the way for us!
This does not mean we are idle, we pray, we study His word, we serve, we seek opportunities to share the work in Indonesia and challenge others.
Our plan was to leave this August, but now it looks more like sometime in the fall or winter.

We hear from other missionaries that there are many tribal groups who are begging for missionaries to come to their village and teach them the "Creator`s Talk".
We are willing, ready and waiting to go!

we are moving again! Move No.10 in 5 years! :)
We are so thankful for the house the Lord had provided for us for the last 11 months. But we are also excited to be able to move into our home church's, Jenison Bible Church's missionary house.
It is right next to the church! So we are packing, cleaning, organizing in the next 10 days.
Our moving date: June 9 Saturday

Two Sundays ago we visited Alton Bible Church in Lowell, MI. We spent the day with Pastor Ford and his kind family (7 super-nice kids! :) and spoke at church in the evening. We were excited to answer a lot questions about Indonesia and about tribal church planting.

Last Sunday we visited Church of the Open Door. It was a very encouraging time for us all!!
We had the whole service time to talk about Indonesia and the huge need for church planters and Bible translators there.
Cool surprise: at the end a nice lady came up to us and told us that his husband was Indonesian!!! He passed away a few years ago but she said she still had 3 Indonesian friends in Hudsonville (they are believers) if we wanted to meet them. We would LOVE to meet them! :) So exciting!!!!

We still need partners!
If God is leading you to partner with us, we praise the Lord for you!
Please see the "pray encourage give" page for more information!

We have full confidence that God will raise up the needed support for us to go!

Prayer Request:
* Scott is considering a 2-week mission`s trip to Indonesia in August. He would be going with an Italian team to do a work project in one of the tribes on the island of Borneo (Kalimantan). He would also be able to visit several other tribes in the region.
Please pray that God will work out all the details if that is His will for him to go.
He needs to raise approximately $2,500 for this trip.
thank you!!!
Thank you for your prayers and support!!

Monday night softball

The new season has started. The guys are playing softball again on Monday nights.
So far they won both their games.
It is fun to just sit around, watch the game, chat with other ladies.
I can just let Benjamin go to play with the other kiddos.

Visiting Alton Bible Church

We took off early on Sunday morning. We went to visit Alton Bible Church in Lowell, MI. Even though we only spoke at the evening service, Pastor Ford invited us to come for the whole day, have dinner with his family and spend the afternoon with them.
About 10 minutes before we reached the church I noticed that a police car started following us. He followed us for about 5 minutes, we didn't do anything wrong but it was still..... yikes!! Scary! Nobody likes to be followed by a police car.

It was an amazing story really. Their 20 year old son, Justin woke up in the middle of the night and realized that the house was on fire. He screamed to the others to get out. God helped them all out of the house without harm. The family lost all their possessions in the fire, including their Christmas presents.
The Ford family has 7 kids.  When we entered their kitchen, it was really fun to see most of them in there helping to get lunch ready. :)
We had the best roast ever!! Thanks Shantall! :)

Cleaning day at the cottage

So this last Saturday we had a cleaning day at Scott's parents' cottage. The whole family got up there and we scrubbed and we shined and we dusted and we vacuumed and we washed and we rinsed and we emptied and we dragged and we shook and we carried. It was time to get the cottage ready for the summer season. It was nice to hang out and work together with family.

My mom (Az én anyukám)

Elkésett anyák napi csokor

A távolból nyújtom feléd
Szeretetem cseppnyi jelét.
Csokrom szavakból szedtem én,
A betűk varázs-mezején.

De mit érnek a szép szavak.
Semennyit el nem mondanak
A hatalmas szeretetből,
Mely árad a Te lelkedből.

A távolból küldöm feléd
Szívem minden szeretetét.
Szavak nélkül elmondanám:
Hogy szeretlek Édesanyám!

Cool Instagram camera

People in certain cultures object to having their picture taken because they believe their soul, or a part of their mana, will be taken from them in the process.  Though the number of these people groups are less and less as "modern" civilization is breaking forth, not leaving many isolated places untouched.
For this reason most tribal groups had some kind of an influence from the outside world, so they are "very" familiar with cameras, cell phones and computers. They themselves might (most certainly) not own one but most of them are far from believing evil spirits behind the lenses.
And if we are talking about cameras, check out this new super-cool *in my opinion* Instragram camera.

Everybody loves the Instagram app. Now imagine it as a real camera that you can just pick up anytime! This is the main idea of ADR Studio at the base of Instagram Socialmatic Concept. A social camera with 16 GB mass storage, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, optical zoom, webcam apps, QR Code (Quick Response Code) capturing, LED flash (to improve low-light picture-taking abilities), internal printer, 4:3 touchscreen and two main lenses with possibility to put on some 3D filters.

With the integrated printer you could print out your photography directly on Instragram Paper Sheets. Every Instagram printed photo reports your Instagram nickname and a QR code on the frontside. The Paper Sheets have a retro touch with a glue strip, just like a post-it.
One day Socialmatic could be the first Instagram camera.
So cool! I admit I had to look up the meanings of some of the features, but I must say I`m impressed. An integrated printer?? :) Hha! This is great!

6 things I learnt in 6 days while laying in my sick-bed

Maybe once or twice a year that I get knocked off my feet with sickness.
But when I do I know that I can always count on Scott to take over for me. He has been faithfully taking care of me, not complaining. He is showing a good example to Benjamin how to take care of somebody when sick.
Here are a few things that I learnt while I was tied to my bed coughing up a storm.

1. ハート水玉(濃ピンク)When you are helpless, thankfully accept the help that you get.

I know I am a very particular person, I just like certain things in a certain way. There is nothing wrong with that, right?
I tried not to drive my poor husband to insanity by asking him to do stuff like
"Papa, could you please turn the air humidifier 13 centimeters to the left?",
or
"Papa, could you please use the little knife with the black handle for cutting the onions and use the canola oil instead of the olive and when you make my ice water could you please put exactly 4 ice cubes in there because I like symmetry in my glass?"
Even though I really really wanted to do that, I tried not to.

2. Contrary to what they tell you, the MALES of the household really CAN feed themselves when push comes to shove.

3. When God gives you the opportunity to rest, REST!
It has been utterly refreshing to have so much time to read the Word in tranquility and meditate on it. What a treat! I also had lots of time to follow along with my reading of The Feminine Appeal (which we are studying together in my Peacock Circle). FEED YOURSELF TRUTH is one of my mottos for this year and I have been thoroughly enjoying reading worthwhile materials.

4. A simple text message or email can be SO encouraging to a sick person
Easy to feel isolated and lonely when you are sick. But when you get a nice facebook comment or a getwell-text message it is worth so so so much!! Or when you get a piece of the toothsome brownies that was served at your Growing Kids God`s Way class which you couldn`t attend.... Ohhh well that really warms your heart! :)  This thought me to keep my eyes open in the future for sick people around me and be an encouragement to them.

5. No matter HOW much lotion they soak into a tissue, when you are sick you will look like Rudolph VERY quickly.

6.  There is nothing like a bout of extreme ickiness for you to learn who truly loves you. To you -and you know who you are- thank you! I owe you and I am so grateful to you for being there for me. You are my unicorn!!!
