A couple of weeks ago we had the opportunity to cook different kinds of Indonesian foods at a staff lady's home. The purpose was to get a little more familiar with the available foods in Indonesia. (the country where we are planning to serve as missionaries). 

You can get a lot of ingredients there that you are used to here, but they might be expensive and not the same than here in the US. Missionaries who have been living in the country for a while recommend that we learn to like the local food. It is much more accessible and a lot cheaper. 

The main meat is fish and chicken, they are fresh and delicious. Beef is more rare and harder to cook. 

Pár héttel ezelőtt alkalmunk adódott különböző indonéz ételeket főznünk és megkóstolnunk az egyik itteni volt misszionárius hölgy házában. A cél az volt hogy egy kicsit jobban megismerkedjünk az Indonéziában kapható ételekkel és hozzávalókkal. (Indonéziába készülünk misszionáriusnak)

Sok ismert hozzávalót meg lehet kapni ott is, de sokszor sokkal drágábban és nem biztos hogy ugyanolyan, mint amihez hozzászoktunk. Gyakorlott misszionáriusok, akik már egy ideje az országban élnek azt javasolják, hogy tanuljuk meg szeretni a helyi hozzávalókat és ételeket. Ezek ugyanis sokkal könnyebben hozzáférhetőek és olcsóbbak. 

A fő húsféle, a hal és a csirkehús mindig friss és nagyon finom. A marhahús ritkább és sokkal rágósabb.

H a p p y   B i r t h d a y   B e n j a m i n !

Benjamin turned 2 on the 20th of November! We celebrated with friends. 

He was truly soooo happy for every gift that he got. We decided that instead of giving all the gifts to him on Saturday, we would stretch his pleasantries out for days. So we started on Thursday. 

We took videos of him opening every gift. He was very expressive and appreciative. It was sooo fun to see his face lighting up as he opened his presents. 

Benike 2 éves lett November 20-án!Barátokkal ünnepeltünk. Hihetetlenül örült minden egyes ajándáknak! Úgy döntöttünk, hogy ahelyett hogy mindent szombaton adnánk oda neki, kinyújtjuk a szülinapi örvendezéseket és csütörtöktől elkezdjük neki odaadni az ajándékait egyesével. Felvettünk mindent videóra. Olyan jó volt látni ahogy a kis arca felderült minden ajándéknál.

There are times when the Lord just burdens something on your heart and you cannot escape from it. 

YOu have to deal with it. It is usually best to bring it right back to Him. He always knows what to do. 

So many times I take my eyes off Him and focus on myself. The end is always CONFUSION. 

So I sat down with Him this morning to just hang out...... I decided to read through Galatians in the Bible. 

And He had so much to tell me. I got so many reminders of who HE is and where His heart is. I was greatly challenged. 

I loved how the little message-crumbs all came together by the end to make a delicious and fresh loaf of Blessing! Just what I needed. 

THE CRUMBS:

 i am sent NOT from man, or by man, but BY JESUS CHRIST and GOD THE FATHER

 What is God`s ? That everyone should hear the Gospel and get saved.

 Am I trying to win the approval of men or of God? Jesus NEVER tried to please men. Only the Father. 

 I want God to reveal His Son in me. 

 I want to see through God's eyes, have the same passion that He is passionate about. 

 Do people praise God because me?

 God is at work in my ministry. 

 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. 

 After beginning with the Spirit, are you now trying to attain your goal by human effort?

 What has happened to all your joy?

 A little yeast works through the whole dough. 

 You were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature. Rather, serve one another in love. 

 The fruit of the Spirit is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS, SELF-CONTROL. 

 Carry each other's burdens. 

 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give . As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. 

 I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. 

SUMMARY:

It is about HIM not about me. 

 This is our new prayer card.

Dobu class ended. Edina--- in training with New Tribes Mission in Missouri It was a really challenging class in a lot of ways. We had a "tribal" language helper from who we had to learn about the Dobu culture and language.  God taught me a lot of things through this class: (just a few here)  How to get over myself and focus on my relationships with people  How much I need my team mates  I need the Lord in every single step of the way Started new class!!!   "Practical Skills" and "Simple Living" The class offers a lot of different areas where we can improve or learn new skills.  We have to cook only from scratch for 10 days  during this time we cannot use any electrical equipment  lights off at 10  we have to go and camp out for a weekend where we have to make our own shelter  we will have to butcher a chicken  men have to bake bread and fix 5 meals  we have to learn how to hook up solar panels on your house, plumbing and wiring your house, how to use a chainsaw etc etc etc. At Navigation class. Trying to find our way with the help of a map and a compass In my free time I spend time with other ladies and we do all kinds off crafts. One of my favorites is CROCHETING! Volt egy "törzsi" bennszülött  nyelvi segítőnk, akitől a Dobu nyelvet és kultúrát kellett  megtanulnunk.  Isten sok mindent megtanitott nekem  ezen az élményen keresztül:  IME NÉHÁNY DOLOG:  Hogy hogyan vegyem le a fókuszomat önmagamról és  tegyek másokat az első helyre  Hogy mennyire szükségem van a csapattársaimra, munkatársaimra  Hogy milyen nagy szükségem van az Úrra minden egyes lépésnél Új óra kezdődött!!!   "Gyakorlati készségek" és "Egyszerű Életmód" Ez a kurzus nagyon sokfajta területen nyújtott gyakorlati  képzést-  10 napig csak otthon készitett ételt és italt lehet  fogyasztani (NO kóla, NO étterem, NO készételek stb.)  10 napig semmiféle elektromos készüléket nem  használhatunk  10-kor lámpaoltás  hétvégén kempingezés a vadonban, NO sátor,  magadnak kell megépitened a menedéket és az alvóhelyet  le kell majd vágnunk egy csirkét  a férfiaknak legalább 5 vacsorát vagy ebédet el kell késziteniük  és még rengeteg más gyakorlati tudnivalók, láncfűrész  használata, napelemek felszerelése, egy ház elektromos- és  vizvezetékelése, kenyérsütés, varrás stb stb stb A kép a TÁJÉKOZÓDÁS órán készült, ahol  egy térkép és  egy iránytű segitségével próbáltuk bemérni a terepet Szabadidőmben sokat kézimunkázunk a lányokkal. Ha érdekel hogy miket készitek, látogasd meg kis boltomat: http://www.etsy.com/shop/sweetpinkfluff Scott`s days On staff at the Missionary Training Center in Missouri Surveying Lately I have been busy helping to prepare the building site for the eventual building of the building. :) In the picture below, I am surveying a trench which contains one of three Earth Tubes which will be used for heating and cooling the new building. Earth Tubes use the Earths temperature to heat in the winter and cool in the summer. Fans mounted on the end of each tube will force air through them and into the building. What can I say...... we are going green! :) It will actually save us tens of thousands of dollars in heating/ cooling costs. It is a blessing to see all the different men and woman here who are gifted in so many different areas! We have Engineers,                            Builders,                              Electricians,                                Plumbers,                                 Carpenters,                                   Project Engineers,                                    Landscapers,                                     Heavy Equipment Operators,                                       Mechanics                                          and many other professions represented  on our full time missionary staff here. Last weekend I attended a Mens Conference near Branson, Missouri. It was a challenging and encouraging  time to spend in the word. We had 2 speakers who came  in from California and taught us from James chapter one on the topic of being doers of the word. It was good for me to spend time in prayer and the word without having anything else I had to do for 2.5 days. Scott at work ----------------------------------------------------- Scott napjai Teljesidejű munkatárs a Missziós Kiképző Központben,  Missouri állam Földmérés Az utóbbi időben eléggé elfoglalt voltam az új épület  terveivel kapcsolatos előkészületekkel :)A lenti képen a földalatti  vezetékek beszerelését figyelem.  Új technikával készülnek...... ZÖld irányba haladunk most már mi is! :) Ez az új technika többezer dollárt takarit majd meg az iskolának a  fűtési-hűtési számlában. Egyre jobban látom, hogy milyen nagy áldás ennyi tehetséges és odaszánt emberrel dolgozni. Vannak itt mérnökök,                            épitészek,                              villanyszerelők,                                vizvezetékszerelők,                                 Asztalosok,                                   Projekt Mérnökök,                                    Kertépítészek,                                     Nehézgép kezelők (markolók, targoncák...)                                       Műszerészek                                          és még sok más foglalkozású emberek  teljes idejű szolgálatban. Múlt hétvégén egy a férfi konferencián vettem részt Branson  közelében, Missouri állambanNagyon jó volt elmélyedni egy kicsit az  igében.   Két előadónk volt, mindkettő Kaliforniából. Jakab első leveléből  tanitottak, arról, hogy az igének ne csak hallgatói legyetek.  Annyira jó volt  két és fél napig háboritatlanul elmélyedni az igében, új barátságokat  épiteni és sokat pingpongozni és kosárlabdázni.  Benjamin is doing well. He is saying a  lot of things both in  English and in Hungarian. He is turning 2 on the 20th of November.   Benike jól van.
