Praise: we currently have 5 Italians in the English course and 3 Italians at the New Tribes Bible school in England.
Pray:
* for their growth in the Lord

* they would be challenged to give their lives to ministry
* good relationship with their home churches
* finances

Edina's Italian studies
Praise: I feel like I have made a bigger step of improvement in the language around Christmas. I have been able to chat with people in church, with neighbors, shop owners. My Italian is still very "broken" and "rough" as I'm searching for words and expressions and conjugations in my head like crazy while conversing with people. It is exhausting!! :) Haha! But I am so glad to have been building relationships with Italians. I love them!!
Pray:
* for discipline, motivation, passion!

* more opportunities to practice and speak
* more people to meet

Scott's Italian studies
Praise:
We recently discovered a free language course in the neighboring city of Termoli. I began attending this course 2 weeks ago. I ride the bus there every weekday. I am also enrolled for a 2nd language course starting next week.
Pray:
* for encouragement and progress in the language. Things are moving forward for me but I have a large mountain to climb before I reach fluency.

Benjamin
Praise:
He is adjusting well to the language and the culture. He spends about 8 hours in full-Italian school a day. He understands a lot already and speaks more and more every day. We are estimating he is gonna pass us in the language in about 6 months. :) LOL
Pray:
* spiritual protection (Catholic environment)
* good friendships
* his learning of Italian
* health

The Great Olive Harvest of 2013

A guest post from Scott's blog:
Ok, so the olive harvest wasn't that great, many of the olives had been knocked down by the first heavy snows that hit the mountain region the week before. But still, it was my first harvest and therefore the greatest of my experience. We gathered around 600 lbs of olives in 2.5 days of harvesting.
 The location was beautiful. We were harvesting trees on a teraced hillside overlooking the ruins of an old monastery with the higher snow capped mountians in the background.
The method of harvesting was to spread out a large net under the tree and using small rakes to comb the olives into the net. The net was propped up on the downhill side and the olives would gather down there. The higher limbs were reached by a ladder. When the tree was emptied of it's olives, we would gather up the net on the high side and funnel everything to the bottom. Then we would pick out the leaves and sticks and place the olives into a burlap bag.
  The olives will be taken to an olive press in town and turned into oil. The owner of the trees gets half of the oil, us harvesters will split the rest. It is not a money making venture, but I hear you cannot beat the taste. It was also a way to help, a cultural experience and a chance to practice some language.

Christmas concert and worship

We had at least 200 people present tonight at our church in Termoli at the Christmas service and concert. Several churches came together from the region to fellowship and worship together.
It was really nice!
Legalább 200-an voltak ott ma este az imaházunkban, Termoliban a karácsonyi istentiszteleten es koncerten. Számos gyülekezet volt képviseltetve a régióból. Nagyon szép alkalom volt!

Toni (elder in Termoli church) is greeting the assembly
Toni (a Termoli gyülekezet egyik vezetője) üdvözli a jelenlevőket

The worship time was very nice, great music, beautiful singing. Many familiar songs... it was fun singing them in Italian.

This is Filomena introducing Regin, who was teaching tonight. On all my shots her hand is in motion! Typical Italian... Awesome! :)
Filomena bemutatja Regint, aki az igét hirdette ma este. Az összes képen Filomena keze mozgásban volt! Tipikus olasz...haha!! :)

During coffee break Filomena entertained the kids with songs with motions.
Benjamin is wearing the red backpack.
A kávé szünet alatt Filomena mutogatós énekekkel szórakoztatta a gyerekeket.
Benike is ott áll, piros hátizsákkal.
This kids thing was in the coffee break thus people are walking around.

Focus focus

Buborekban: Hany olasz szo is van osszesen??!
Our life these days:

And then start over again :)

And masnap ugyanez kezdodik elolrol. :)

We love it though.
Every day we are so thankful to God for bringing us to a place where He desires us to serve. It would be easy to say sometimes, Oh I dont know... this doesnt really feel like "serving" since I'm "just" learning the language.... The reality is that many times I would just like to skip the training and the "preparation part", and jump to the "ministry part". But to be formed and molded in His hands is just as important!
I must allow room for His sovereign time schedule in my life. And that is what I intend to do!
Today I want to be obedient and do my job here and now!
Because that is what He has for me today.
Ma akarok engedelmes lenni, es megtenni ami ram bizva.
Es ma a tanulas van ram bizva.
Buborekan: En tudok..... Koncentralj koncentralj

A Thank you note

About a week ago a placed a new bottle of shampoo next to the old one that only had enough for one more wash in it.
However I was most astonished to notice that I was able to squeeze "just one more handful" out of the bottle every morning in the last week. How is that possible!
The shampoo that just keeps giving....
As I was contemplating this in the shower this morning I couldn't but think ofSOMEONE who truly keeps giving... and never stops... and just keeps giving and giving and giving....
My Heavenly Father is the Maker of all things. He made us and He sustains us.
He provides us with vitals, air, water, nutrition...We truly depend on Him for ourLIFE!
How sad is it when people simply ignore, or what's worse, curse and blame Him.
So
I just wanna THANK YOU   G o d for EVERYTHINGthis morning!!!
We humbly thank you!

A Mi Mennyei Atyank. O teremtett mindent. O teremtett minket is, es mindent ami az eletunk fenntartasahoz szukseges. Levego, viz, etel....
Alazatosan koszonok mindent!

Benjamin's Birthday

Scott was supposed to be gone picking olives with our coworkers on the day of Benjamin's birthday so we decided to spread our his birthday celebrations to 4 days instead of just 1 day. Sweet, right? We knew that Benjamin wouldn't object. :) But then because of the weather the olive picking was cancelled, so we ended up with 4 (more like 5) birthday days for Benjamin! :)

Nagyon szepen koszonjuk a sok kedves ajandekot Benikenek!! Nagyon boldog volt!!!! :)

Benjamin in school

On Benjamin's birthday I asked his teachers if they would be able to take some pictures of Benjamin and his friends during the day. They were willing about it. Yay!
So in one hand we got some memories of Benjamin's kindergarten class, on his birthday, on the other hand I have been most curious to know what they are doing all day. Now I see where they eat lunch, how they do activities during the day, see how he interacts with his friends etc. Great!!
Benike szulinapjan megkertem a tanito nenit hogy fenykepezzen egy parat napkozben Benikerol es a kis baratairol. Szivesen eleget tettek keresemnek! :)
